‘The Blue Hour’ is a photography term for that time of day just after sunrise, when a delicious blue light fills the air. This posy of gum leaves and billy buttons was calling to be painted in this blue morning light, after rising particularly early one morning. The painting was part of my limited edition print series 'The New Leaf', and will happily live on as a greeting card.
